Our Human Pericytes from Placenta (hPC-PL) are sourced from human placental tissue. These pericytes, multipotent mesenchymal-like cells, are typically found adjacent to small blood vessel walls. They play crucial roles in angiogenesis, maintaining microvasculature integrity, and regulating blood flow. However, it's noteworthy that they also possess the potential to transform into malignant tumors known as hemangiopericytomas.
Pericytes have exhibited remarkable versatility, showcasing their ability to differentiate into various cell types, including adipocytes, osteoblasts, fibroblasts, smooth muscle cells, and phagocytes (macrophages).
