Obtained from individual donor's heart ventricles, our primary Human Cardiac Microvascular Endothelial Cells (HCMEC) undergo routine immunofluorescent staining. Positive for CD31 and von Willebrand factor, and negative for smooth muscle α-actin, these cells are integral to the physiological regulation of coronary blood flow and capillary exchange. Endothelial dysfunction, linked to medical conditions like hypertrophy, ischemia, hypertension, and diabetes mellitus, underscores the significance of studying HCMEC in vitro.
