Primary Human Cardiac Fibroblasts (HCF) are isolated from the ventricles of the adult heart. They play a central role in the maintenance of the extracellular matrix in the normal heart and the synthesis of growth factors and cytokines. Under pathophysiological conditions, cardiac fibroblasts are involved in scar formation after myocardial infarction, cardiac fibrosis, and cardiac hypertrophy. HCF can be used to study such processes in vitro.
Note: We have updated the marker profile used for the quality control of our Human Cardiac Fibroblasts due to a reassessment of the specification profile of our cells. From now on, our cells will be tested positive for fibronectin and CD90 instead of being tested negative for smooth muscle α-actin and slow muscle myosin. Please note that all other product specifications remain unchanged. For details, please refer to the Certificate of Analysis orget in contact with us: [email protected]
