Macrophages

Primary human macrophages are phagocytic innate immune cells that play a central role in immune defense, inflammation, and tissue homeostasis. Researchers can use macrophages to study host-pathogen interactions, chronic inflammatory processes, and immune regulation in physiologically relevant in vitro models. Primary human macrophages are also commonly used in studies of immune activation, tissue remodeling, cancer immunology, and the development of therapies targeting macrophage-driven pathways.

At PromoCell, we provide primary human macrophages that have been predifferentiated into defined polarization states, including M1 (pro-inflammatory) and M2 (anti-inflammatory, tissue-repair) macrophages. These ready-to-use cell types enable reproducible experimental workflows without the need for additional differentiation or polarization steps.

We also offer optimized cell culture media for macrophages, designed to maintain phenotype stability and performance across applications, supporting reliable macrophage culture and functional studies. Together, our primary human macrophages and optimized media help researchers generate consistent results in immune cell assays, inflammation models, and translational disease research.
