Derived from plaque-free sections of the human aorta, our Human Aortic Smooth Muscle Cells (HAoSMC) exhibit positive staining for smooth muscle α-actin. These cells play a pivotal role in responding to the cyclic distention induced by the heart's pulsatile pressure, subsequently contracting the aortic wall. This process is significantly influenced by alterations in the arterial wall, commonly associated with conditions like atherosclerosis and hypertension.

HAoSMC offer an excellent platform for exploring the function of smooth muscle cells, both under normal physiological conditions and in disease states, within an in vitro setting.
