- Plate human osteoblasts in Osteoblast Mineralization Medium
- Use collagen type I-coated tissue culture vessels
- Incubate the cells for 17-21 days
- Change the medium every third day
- Handle cultures carefully to avoid disturbing the cell monolayer
- Fix the cells at the end of the incubation period
Calcium deposition can be visualized using:
- von Kossa staining, or
- Alizarin Red staining
