Primary Human Bronchial Smooth Muscle Cells (HBSMC) are obtained from individual donor bronchi and exhibit positive staining for smooth muscle α-actin. These cells play a pivotal role in connecting bronchial cartilage endings, thereby regulating the airway lumen. Pathological conditions, such as asthma, involve an increased presence of smooth muscle cells in bronchial walls, leading to hypertrophy or hyperplasia. Consequently, HBSMC offer a valuable resource for studying asthma and various pulmonary diseases in vitro.
